Theppotsavam (float festival) was celebrated at Vaduvur Sri Kothandaramaswamy Temple on Feb 12, 2014 at 8:00PM, in the presence of devotees from the region. The event includes

a) Thiruveedhi Ula (procession/purapadu) of Divya Thambathi

b) Divya Thambathi seva on the Theppam

2014 Vaduvur Sri Ramanavami Brahmotsavam - Apr 8 - 17, 2014

Sri Ramanavami Brahmotsavam is scheduled to be celebrated from Apr 8 - 17, 2014 at Vaduvur Sri Kothandaramaswamy Temple

Thai Ammavasai - Theertha Vaari at Sarayu Pushkarni - Jan 30, 2014

 

Thai Ammavasai is the first Amavasi of Utharayanam (the period when Sun moves Northwards). On January 30, 2014, Theertha Vaari was performed at Sarayu Pushkarni (Temple tank).

Vaduvur Temple - Pavithrotsavam (Purification Ceremony) concluded on Nov 17, 2013

  

 

Annual Pavithrosavam (purification ceremony) was celebrated from Nov 11-17, 2013. 

As the name indicates, it is the purification ceremony which is conducted to get rid of the mistakes (nivarthi) that occur in the daily worship and other religious rites performed in the temple. It is a well prescribed ritual , where the archakas prays for forgiveness for all  lapses--conscious or otherwise-- in the daily worship. 

Homam was conducted at the yaga sala for 7 days with 60 aradhanam per day on first 6 days and 5 aradhanam on 7th day to mark 365 days.

The last day (Nov 17th) events include

• Theerthavaari & Saatrumurai   
• Kaisika purana naatyam

Oonjal Utsavam was celebrated at Vaduvur Sri Kothandararamaswamy Temple from Oct 22 - Oct 26, 2013

The daily event includes

a) Nitha Purapadu at 6:30PM

b) Oonjal Utsavam

c) Shatupacharam (six) to Divya Thambathi

d) Daily music program and Bharata Natyam by teachers and students from Natraja Natya Vidyalaya, Mannargudi; Tiruchi Kalai Kavery College students
